Electrolysers are becoming an increasingly important component of low-carbon hydrogen infrastructure. For organisations introducing electrolyser technology into existing industrial sites, however, installing the equipment is only part of the challenge. Operators and maintenance teams also need to become competent in new operating procedures. Bespoke Virtual Reality training can allow personnel to familiarise themselves with an electrolyser installation before working on the physical plant, while Augmented Reality can support approved procedures during inspections, commissioning and maintenance.

Hydrogen has an important role to play in industrial decarbonisation, but introducing hydrogen into industrial environments also introduces procedures that operators, maintenance teams and emergency responders need to understand instinctively. When a leak, detector alarm or abnormal operating condition occurs, there may be little time to consult a lengthy manual. Bespoke Virtual Reality (VR) training can enable personnel to rehearse hydrogen leak response before entering the real working environment. Augmented Reality (AR) can then provide contextual information and approved procedural guidance when technicians are carrying out inspections, maintenance or commissioning work in the field.
